Phenomenon Design House in Brunei was my first agency, and my first exposure to financial-sector clients: Standard Chartered, Baiduri Bank, and HSBC.

Annual reports, corporate brochures, product collateral, and editorial publications — long documents with tight typographic rules and approval chains that ran through compliance.

Financial print teaches restraint, because nearly every decision has to survive someone asking why it was made. It is also where I learned what a real brief looks like.
